WALES — William and Shirley Hatch of Wales, formerly of Auburn, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 12, with a surprise party given by their children, Karen Hatch Gagne, Kimberly Kobierski, Richard Hatch, Robert Hatch, Ron Hatch, Cheryl Tukey and their families.
Bill Hatch and the former Shirley Bubier were married on Feb. 2, 1952 at the Universalist Church in Auburn by Rev. Niles.
The couple has seven children, Colleen (Hatch) Hartford and Dana, Karen Hatch Gagne and Terry, Cheryl (Hatch) Tukey and Bruce, Robert Hatch, Ronald Hatch, Richard Hatch and Jane and Kimberly (Hatch) Kobierski and John; and 21 grandchildren, Darren Hartford, Suzanne Hartford, Marsha Hartford-Sapp, Darcy Hartford, Christopher Gagne, Matthew Gagne, Laura Tukey, Jazz Hatch, Ashley Hatch, Brandon Hatch, Kirsten Hatch, Spencer Hatch , Erin (Hatch) Hebert, Michael Hatch, Jennifer Dowling, Christopher Dowling, Samantha Hatch, Andrew Hatch, Jake Kobierski, Bobby Kobierski and Jedrick Kobierski; and three great-grandchildren, Abbey and Ella Doten and Luci Burkett.
There were 42 guests who attended from Auburn, Caribou, Sidney, Hebron, Bangor, Danvers, Mass., Poland, Wales, Detroit, Lisbon, Augusta, Lewiston and Buxton.
