Easter week
PHILLIPS — The Phillips Community Church-UCC will hold Easter week services as follows:
A Palm Sunday service with communion will take place at 11 a.m Sunday, April 1, at the church. On Thursday, April 5, a Maundy Thursday service will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Shadagee, with a light meal and communion.
An Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:05 a.m. Sunday, April 8, at the home of Kermit and Nana Haines, Blake Hill, Route 4, and a service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Susan Kaplan-Burgess, 491-5353, will conduct the services.
Country music
SALEM — A+E’s Hill Country Music will return to the Salem Community Building at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 1. There will be an afternoon of old-time country music with friends. A donation box will be at the door and refreshments will be on sale. The event will be hosted by the Salem Pine Tree Club.
Registration
LIVERMORE — Residents of Livermore and Livermore Falls with children who will be 5 on or before, Oct. 15 are asked to set up an appointment to register their child to start school in the fall.
To make an appointment, call Livermore Elementary School at 897-3355, ext. 100. A registration packet is available for those wishing to complete part of the process prior to registration day.
Parents of students who are in the district’s prekindergarten classes are still asked to call to make an appointment.
The registration process will take 15 to 20 minutes and will include the following: gathering of student identification information, kindergarten screening, review of child’s medical history. Parents should bring an official birth certificate, social security card and immunization record.
Poster winners
STRONG — The Strong School Rock Your Smile Poster Contest winners are announced: kindergarten, Isabelle Danala and Byron Knight, first grade, Emily
Pillsbury and Porter Knight; second grade, Emily Kidd and Emily Marden; third grade, Quinn Mumma and Mickey Visuano; fourth grade, Robin Masterman and Hailey Walker.
Posters were judged on March 15 at the district contest at Mt. Abram High School and second-grader Emily Kidd was chosen winner. Her poster will go on the state poster contest.
