We are seeing the effects of climate change across the country now. In the past few years, there have been more erratic temperatures, snowfall and lake ice; more extreme droughts and floods; and other damaging and dangerous trends.
We should expect to see even more climate trouble in the coming years because very little has been done to cut back on the air pollution that drives climate change. If government officials do not act now to reduce climate change pollution, our kids and grandchildren face a grim future.
The first rules to help begin stabilizing the climate have been issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Every sensible person should welcome those rules and encourage elected officials to do more to protect the environment, the economy, and our children’s future.
