Church plans ‘recycle sale’

WILTON — The Wilton Congregational Church will hold a “recycle sale” on Friday, Apr. 20, and Saturday, Apr. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will take place at the church on Main Street. Used clothing and household goods will be available by donation.

Grange open house

DIXFIELD — Mystic Valley Grange, Main Street, East Dixfield, will have an open house on Saturday, April 21. At noon there will be a public buffet lunch for $5 per person.

FAYETTE — The Underwood Memorial Library will have a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21.

Turner Library fundraiser

TURNER — Turner Public Library is raising funds by donations during the Celebration of Spring at Leavitt Institute Building, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21.

There will be book readings and signings by author and illustrator at 10 a.m.; 15 vendors; three seminars on conservation, raised garden beds and window boxes from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; a children’s program on All Things Faeries and Make It-Take It at 10:30; wood carving demonstration at 11; quilt sale all day; Earth Day/May Day Pole at 12:30 p.m. at the Gazebo on the Green; coffee and donuts from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon.

Scholarship auction

WILTON — The Wilton Scholarship Auction will take place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Academy Hill School. Fun for the whole family. Auction donations welcome. Call 645-3894.

Basket bingo planned

FARMINGTON — A basket bingo with Longaberger baskets as prizes will take place Sunday, April 29, at the Elks Lodge. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Start time will be at 1.

Otis Federal Credit Union’s Ending Hunger Committee is collecting items to fill the baskets, as well as monetary donations. Items to sell as concession are also welcomed. Last year they were able to help three local food pantries totaling over $5500.
