AUBURN — Rejeanne T. LeClair, 86, of Monmouth, formerly of River Street, Lewiston, died Wednesday, May 2, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 8, 1925, a daughter of the late Emile and Malvina Robitaille Ouellette. She was educated in Lewiston schools and Mount Merici Academy. She was married to Lucien LeClair on June 14, 1947. He died May 9, 1998.

Mrs. LeClair was a former member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Gardiner, St. Francis Xavier Parish in Winthrop and the Lewiston Senior Citizens. She and her husband, Lucien, operated LeClair’s Market in Gardiner for 31 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards and games. She was an expert knitter, who knitted intricate sweaters that were enjoyed by many family members. She loved cooking and entertaining, especially for holiday gatherings and lobster feeds, which were part of most birthday celebrations. Ma loved her home “camp,” where she would sit on the porch reading, knitting and doing crossword puzzles. She waited with great anticipation for the wild flowers and her perennial gardens to bloom throughout the spring and summer.

Rejeanne will be remembered for her love of her family, her many kindnesses and her dedication to her faith.

She is survived by two sons, Roger LeClair and wife, Ann-Marie, of Monmouth and Raymond LeClair and wife, Karen, of Greenville; grandchildren, James and wife, Susan LeClair, Julie and husband, Daniel Sisk and Jillian LeClair and fiance, Dustin Dulac; great-grandchildren, Mary Kate, Caslin and Kevin Sisk; two sisters, Sister Rita Ouellette, MIC, of Montreal, and Lauretta Sirois of Lewiston; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline LeClair of Lewiston; also several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special longtime friend, Pauline Fournier of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by a son, Norman LeClair of Greenville; a sister, Laurianne Ouellette; and two brothers, Fr. Roger Ouellette and Paul Ouellette.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, most especially her health care providers, Cindy and Doreen.
