KINGFIELD – The description of an armed-robbery suspect in connection to a robbery at Tranten’s Too on Main Street reported at 7:58 p.m. Monday has been updated.
The white male is of medium build, about 140 to 160 pounds, has light colored hair and and light colored, light beard, Franklin County sheriff Cpl. Stephen Charles said Wednesday.
He is about 5-foot, 6 inches to 5-foot, 8 inches, wore white gloves and had a red bandana covering the lower half of his face, Charles said. The man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black boots and blue jeans.
He was reported to have been displaying a handgun, he said.
Numerous witnesses have come forward since the incident occurred and Charles said he would like to hear from more. If anyone has information or saw anything, they are asked to call Charles at 778-2680.
“A vehicle was seen in the area that is believed to have been involved,” he said.
The man also has some sort of pack or bag, possibly camouflage, he said.
The investigation is ongoing, he said.
“We have some solid leads and we’re following up on those leads,” Charles said.
Charles said he and Franklin County deputies are being assisted by Somerset County Sheriff Department and Maine State Police.
