WILTON — At the June 14 meeting of the Wilton Day Group, eight members went to Longfellow’s Greenhouse and Peppers’ in Winthrop for lunch. Those enjoying the day were Betty Douglas, Lois King, Lillian Miller, Anne Storey, Beverly West, Cherilyn Klinker, Ann Ibarguen and Hazel Flagg.
Lois announced that the group will be making bracelets for babies on July 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. and again on July 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring elastic and buttons.
Weld extension will have a Farmers Market on Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Sept. 20, group members will be at Farmington Fair. The theme for this year will be Everything Extension. We need all items made this year.
Franklin County Homemakers extension is looking for a co-treasurer for next year and also a treasurer for the reminder of this year.
Oct. 15 from noon to 2:30 p.m. will be a follow up on the “train the leaders” class.
The group will be making hot dog in a bun pillowcases for the United Way Saves program for their community project from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Trinity Methodist Church. The pillowcases need to be 27 inches by 42 inches with a nine-inch border. Members are asked to bring two different colors of fabric, one yard each, in dark colors, as well as everything for sewing for the day and a bag lunch. The “train the trainer” topic will be birds.
The next meeting will be a planning meeting to be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 10 at St. Luke’s Church in Wilton. Doris and Marcella are on the dinner committee. Bring sandwich, dues for 2013 and toilet paper for the food pantry. The group will also start doing birthdays.
