FARMINGTON — Two juveniles from the Fairbanks area have been charged in connection to a house burglary at 121 Holley Road where a handgun was taken.

One teen was cited for felony burglary and the other for felony theft, Detective Marc Bowering of the Farmington Police Department said Friday morning.

The resident of the house returned home Tuesday to discover someone had searched the bedroom and taken a gun from a nightstand, Bowering said. It’s believed entry was gained through a window.

Police used a dog to try to track the suspect Tuesday but once the dog reached Fairbanks Road, the track was apparently lost, Rachel Heseltine, department secretary, said.

Bowering said police received help — he didn’t specify what kind — that led them to the two teens. They were issued court summonses and will have a juvenile court date assigned, he said.
