HARRISON — Harrison Parks and Rec. first Senior Social of the New Year kicks off Tuesday, Jan. 7at the fire station community room from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This social is being sponsored by the Harrison Lion’s Club so there is no cost to attend. There will be a special performance by the Harrison Village Library at 12:30 p.m. The Reader’s Theatre with Kathleen Kramer, Librarian, along with Jane Riseman and Bill Wood, will present “The Wicked Good Guide to Mainah English.” This is sure to bring about a few laughs.
The meal will feature spaghetti and meatballs, garden salad, Italian bread, dessert, juice, coffee/tea/hot cocoa. They will have the guess jar, word games, maze puzzle and Bingo with prizes. If you are interested only in a delicious meal, stop by at 12 noon. If there is a snow storm and school is cancelled, then the social will also be cancelled.
New this New Year will be a game afternoon called “Seniors Play Games” at the community room from 1-3 p.m. starting Tuesday, Jan. 14. This new program will take place every Tuesday except the first Tuesday of the month which is always the senior social and luncheon. Stop in with friends and play cribbage, board games or puzzles. Bring your favorite games or puzzle if you wish or choose from a variety that will be available every game afternoon. There will also be beverages and light snacks.
