WILTON — The annual end of season banquet for the Old Crow Band took place Sept. 9 at Kineowatha Park. The band members gathered at one of the lodge buildings for a potluck barbecue.

The members then conducted the annual meeting. It was discussed and successfully voted that next year’s Monday night concerts in the park would take place at a new time, starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 8:30 instead of the usual 7:30 to 9. This will allow more daylight playing time for the band and the families with children who come to play.

The concerts are free to the public, donations are welcome. They start the first Monday in June and end the last Monday in August.

The band agreed to start the annual practices the first Monday in April and would like to let the public know that anyone is welcome to join in. There are no special requirements, age limits or abilities.

Election of officers was voted to stay the same as the current year: Paul Harnden, president; Rick Marriner, vice president; Robin Harnden, director; Julie Harnden, treasurer; and Kyrie Harnden, secretary.

At the end of the meeting Director Robin Harnden announced his retirement from the band to begin at the end of the 2013 season, allowing the band a sufficient amount of time to welcome in a new director.
