PARIS — Selectmen are set to make the final vote on the separation agreement between the town and former Town Manager Phil Tarr.

Tarr has been gone since Sept. 14, with Town Clerk Elizabeth Knox filling in as interim town manager while the board works to hire Tarr’s replacement.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Sam Elliot said there were some last minute changes that couldn’t be added to the agreement in time for a planned special meeting on Sept. 14. Tarr already signed his his part of the agreement on Sept. 18, according to Knox.

“On Monday night, it’ll all be official and public,” Elliot said. Sept. 14 was Tarr’s official end date.

The board met Sept. 21 to discuss a petition to put a merger between the Paris and Norway police departments on the Nov. 6 ballot, but the petition was about 80 short of the 243 signatures needed. Elliot said the board tabled any decision to add it to the ballot. Friday was the deadline to submit a ballot question.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Paris Town Office.
