EAST LANSING, Mich. — Janna Laverdiere, daughter of Marc and Margie Laverdiere of Lewiston, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2012 spring semester at Michigan State University.
Laverdiere is a recent MSU graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional science and specialization in environmental studies. She earned recognition from MSU Study Abroad Program in environmental science study in New Zealand, Study Away in Hawaii and Music, Arts and Literature Study in Austria.
She is currently a dental intern at Karthilde Appolon, DDS in Manhattan, N.Y.
BOSTON — Nathaniel Amos Rothschild, son of Catharine and Michael Rothschild of Tory Hill, Phillips, has graduated from Boston University as a Doctor of Philosophy in English literature.
Rothschild attended Strong Elementary School, Mt. Abram High School and Yale University where he graduated magna cum laude. He received a Masters of Education from Fordham University while teaching high school English in the Bronx, N.Y. He also received a masters degree in English literature at Boston University. He is presently teaching English literature at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
BIDDEFORD — Aaron Chen, son of Li Ying Chen and Ya Jun Chen of Auburn and Springfield, Mass., Stephanye Doucette, daughter of Michael and Rachel Doucette of Lewiston, and Laurie Doyon, daughter of Daniel and Maureen Doyon of Lewiston, first-year students at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, recently participated in the college’s annual White Coat Ceremony to formally recognize the transition from lay persons to those assuming the responsibility of physicians.
The ceremony was held Sept. 8, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland. The medical students were presented their white coats by members of the physician community.
