Family tradition of folk

The Gawlers, a fun-loving, folk-singing, banjo-playing, contra-calling family of five from Belgrade, will perform Saturday, Nov. 24, at Cumston Hall in Monmouth. John and Ellen Gawler and their daughters, Molly, Edith and Elsie, will perform an assortment of old and new sounds from many folk traditions. They accompany interweaving family harmonies with fiddles, banjo, cello, guitar, ukulele and piano. Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. concert are $15 for adults/$10 for seniors and students. They are available at brownpapertickets.com (keyword: Cumston) and at Peppers Restaurant, Apple Valley Books and Cumston Library; and at the door.
