MEXICO — Parking issues and license renewals are among the topics listed for the selectmen’s meeting Tuesday night.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Mexico town office, following an executive session about a personnel matter. The selectmen will discuss an agreement with the Mexico Congregational Church for expanded parking at the recreation building.

“We’re trying to fix up the lot,” Selectman Reggie Arsenault explained. “Our goal is to make it more accessible to people for functions that take place near the recreation building.”

Selectmen will also discuss the matter of people parking on Bucknum and Burton streets and whether or not “No Parking” signs should be installed. During a selectmen’s meeting on Nov. 27, the selectmen brought up the issue, but Arsenault said at Tuesday night’s meeting that they’ll try to figure out their next steps.

“We’re looking into a possible public hearing to talk about the ‘No Parking’ signs,” Arsenault said. “People are still parking on the side of the street, and it makes it tough for our trucks to plow.”

The town’s parking ban went into effect Dec. 1. According to comments made by the town’s foreman earlier in the week, if people continue to park on the road, they’ll be ticketed. If they park on the road during a snowstorm, they will be towed.

In addition to the parking issues, selectmen will discuss taxi cab license renewals for Roadhog Express and Mountain Valley Taxi Service.
