- Seth Flaherty, 17, of Monmouth flies over a snowbank in the parking lot of Monmouth Academy where he goes to school. “There are about 30 of us who go to school here and hang out here and cruise around the trails. I have gone over 300 miles so far this year, but none of it on any lakes. It’s just not safe yet. It’s a tragedy what happened up in Rangeley, and it’s about 15 degrees colder there, so that tells you it’s not safe around here yet. With all the trails in the area, there is no need to go out on the lakes now.”
