PARIS — Kelly Laplante has been selected as the 2012-13 recipient of the Central Maine Community College Aspire Higher scholarship. This scholarship enables her to take up to 15 credits of CMCC courses tuition free at the Western Maine Community College Center in South Paris.
Laplante is an Oxford native and attended Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. She completed a CNA certification course last December and aspires to become an OB/GYN nurse.
Laplante has been employed by Market Square Health Care and she and her husband reside in Harrison with their four children. The goal of the Aspire Higher initiative is to raise post-secondary aspirations of students.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. — Janelle Berry of Harrison, Lindsey Matthews of South Paris and Bobby Rousseau of Auburn were named to the dean’s list at the University of New Haven for the fall 2012 semester.
SEARCY, ARK. — Harrison resident Michelle Heroux, a junior at Harding University, is among more than 1,000 university students included on the dean’s list for grades achieved during the fall semester.
TROY, N.Y. — Keshia Falabella of Gray was recently named to the president’s list at Hudson Valley Community College. Falabella is in the individual studies academic program.

Loren Lachapelle, daughter of Jane Clavet of Auburn, is studying abroad in Queensland, Australia. Lachapelle, a junior business administration major who graduated from Edward Little High School, is a student for the semester at Bond University.
Lauren McHatten, daughter of Clifford and Lynn McHatten of Winthrop, is studying abroad in Salzburg, Austria. McHatten, a junior psychology major who graduated from Winthrop High School, is a student for the semester at University of Salzburg.
BURLINGTON, Vt. — Jocellyn Harvey of Turner has been named to the fall 2012 Champlain College president’s list for earning a 4.0 grade point average during the fall semester as a professional writing major. Harvey is the daughter of Dan and Pamela Pulkkinen of Turner.
BURLINGTON, Vt. — Caitlin Douglass of Farmington has been named to the fall 2012 Champlain College’s dean’s list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher and is majoring in graphic design and digital media. Douglass is the daughter of Glenn Douglass of Phillips and Tracy Williams of Farmington.
CLINTON, N.Y. — Emily M. Grund, daughter of Susan Pease of Auburn and David Grund, also of Auburn, has been named to the dean’s list at Hamilton College for the 2012 fall semester.
Grund, a sophomore, is a graduate of Edward Little High School.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Muhlenberg College has announced its dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester. Michael Weber, a member of the class of 2015, is a chemistry major from Auburn. He is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ware Weber and a graduate of Edward Little High School.
POTSDAM, N.Y. — Ashley Gallagher of Auburn was recently named to the dean’s list at The State University of New York at Potsdam. Gallagher, whose major is music education, was among 380 students who were honored for academic excellence in the fall 2012 semester.
