- Members of the third and fourth grade Drama Club at Lisbon Community School will be performing “The Little Mermaid” on Friday, Feb. 1, and Saturday, Feb. 2, transforming the LCS Cafetorium into a magical journey under the sea. Friday the curtain goes up at 6 p.m. and Saturday’s performance is slated for 1 p.m. The production is under the direction of Lisbon’s theater veteran drama advisor, Laurie Cincotta. Tickets are available at the door for both performances.The production is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic novel. Annabelle, youngest daughter of King Neptune, is dissatisfied with life in the sea. She longs to be with the humans above the surface, and is often caught in arguments with her father over those “barbaric fish-eaters.” She goes to meet Odessa, the Sea Witch, to strike a deal, but Odessa has bigger plans for this mermaid and her father.
