NORWAY — Charles W. Holden, 93, of West Paris died Sunday, Feb. 24, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

He was born in West Paris, June 30, 1919, the son of James M. and Florence Rollins Holden. He was educated in local schools and had been a woodsman and farmer all of his life.

He married Kathleen Skillings on March 20, 1948. He liked to read, travel and spend time in his garden.

He is survived by his son, Matthew Holden and his wife, Colleen, of South Paris; many foster children including special foster sons, Timothy Fairbanks of Colorado, and Clarence Faulkner and his wife, Leigh, of Hebron; grandchildren, Allyssa, Kathleen, Rachel, Travis, Jeremy, Joshua, Caleb and Gabriel; a great-grandson, Nicholas Holden Maurice; a sister, Claribel Holden of Oxford; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife on April 3, 2011; and two brothers, Albert Holden and Peter Holden.
