Students present Cross Stations
AUBURN — More than 40 students in St. Dominic Academy’s eighth-grade class will present the Live Stations of the Cross at 11 a.m. on Good Friday, March 29, at the Auburn Campus, 121 Gracelawn Road.
“It is a scripturally-based reading and enactment of the Stations of the Cross,” said Donald Fournier, principal at St. Dominic Academy. “We have been doing this since the forming of the academy, but it was done at Trinity Catholic for some time before us.”
The presentation is designed to be a prayer experience for the students that they can experience on Good Friday, leading up to both the Good Friday evening liturgy and Easter Sunday.
“The biblical roots from which this presentation is drawn creates a very prayerful experience for our students,” added Fournier. “The seriousness in which our eighth graders approach their parts is a witness to the reverence of our celebration of this most holy day.”
Parents, families and media members are invited to attend. For further information, contact Principal Donald Fournier at 207-782-6911 or at Donald.Fournier@portlanddiocese.org.

Program on Harry Stump
AUBURN — Lloyd Ferriss, author of “Harry Stump: Maine’s Psychic Sculptor,” will be at the Auburn Public Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18, to talk about one of the most unusual and most influential artists to ever come from the state of Maine.
Maine’s long history has generated many unusual, mysterious and compelling stories but few of them come close to the story Ferriss shares about Stump. Stump’s insights into the meaning of life via his art and ESP, as well as his encounters with such stand-out intellectuals as George Balanchine and the novelist Aldous Huxley, made Stump not only an important figure in Maine history but also in the art world.
The free program will take place in the Androscoggin Community Room.
