Senior seminar at Bridgton center

BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Community Center and representative Lisa Villa will host a free, multi-topic seminar for seniors from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 24. All are welcome to attend.

Presenters from Legal Services for the Elderly and Stan Cohen will address several topics including living wills and durable powers of attorney, “How the Affordable Care Act works with Medicare” and other issues that are important to the “elder” population.

The Southern Maine Agency on Aging, Legal Services for the Elderly and AARP will be represented. Participation by attendees will be encouraged.

Flea market, bake sale

RUMFORD — A flea market and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at St. Barnabas Church.

Gardening seminars

TURNER — “Gardening In Turner” seminars will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, with presenters Bill Rupert and Lin Gilbert, demonstrations and round-table discussion involving audience.

The event is hosted by Turner Public Library in Leavitt Institute Building, Turner Center. There will be free coffee, doughnuts and cider, as well as a luncheon for purchase.

Society collecting for yard sale

HEBRON — The Hebron Historical Society is accumulating merchandise for an upcoming yard sale in support of its Building Fund. The sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on its property at 358 Hebron Road.

Anyone with items they would like to donate, big or small, many or few, is asked to call 966-2177 or 966-2023. Pick up is available. Donations are tax deductible.

Mother’s Day craft fair

OXFORD — A Mother’s Day craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Anderson-Staples American Legion. Admission is free. Table rentals are $15. Electricity is available if needed.

Infant CPR classes slated

NORWAY — The Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer an Infant CPR class from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, in the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Office Building, 193 Main St.

The classes are helpful to both new and experienced parents. Learn the skills to do CPR and choking rescue on an infant up to the age of 1 year. This is a hands-on experience with manikins.
