1928 – 2013
AUBURN — Aldine I. Meserve, 84, of Raymond, passed to a higher life on May 31, at the Hospice House in Auburn after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.
She was born June 26, 1928, in North Raymond, the daughter of Elliott and Marzie (Hodgkins) Tripp. She attended local schools and graduated from Pennell Institute in Gray in 1947.
She was an active 70-year member of Sabbathday Lake Grange No. 365, where she held many offices. She joined the Cumberland Androscoggin Pomona (later North Cumberland Pomona), where she served as a Junior Deputy of the Maine State Grange. Later, as a member of the Androscoggin Pomona, she served as secretary for many years. Aldine was a member of the Maine State Grange and a seventh degree member of the National Grange. At the time of her death, she was a member of Danville Junction Grange No. 65.
Aldine is survived by eight children, five daughters, Marzie and Dale Burnell and Roberta Meserve, all of Raymond, Carol and Darrell St. Lawrence, Susie and Buzz Faulkner, all of Hudson, and Norma Meserve of Raymond; and three sons, David and Kathy Meserve of Auburn, Jim and Judy Meserve of Farmingdale and John and Barbara Meserve of Casco; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three nieces, Kathy Thayer of Veazie, Marilyn Tripp and Renie and Erland Holt of Leeds.
She was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Reginald.
