WILTON — Two men remained in a Farmington jail Wednesday night, hours after they were arraigned on charges stemming from a fight that put one of them in a hospital over the weekend.
Jason White, 43, of Wilton and Benjamin E. York, 18, of Jay appeared in a Farmington court a day after they were arrested by Wilton police. White is charged with criminal threatening and York is charged with aggravated assault, according to a court affidavit. They are being held on $1,000 cash bail each.
Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said Wednesday that Officer Andrew Hardy found White unconscious in a pool of blood on Lake Road near Wilson Lake at about 8 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington with a head injury and released Monday.
According to court documents, White drove past a house on Maxwell Road about 7:30 p.m. Sunday and threw an “improvised incendiary device” in the direction of York, Kahner Dee, 18, and Juan Colon, 23. The three men got into a Chevrolet Blazer and chased White and confronted him.
White was armed with a hatchet-style weapon and Colon had a homemade club, according to the court record.
Chief Wilcox said White was struck with the club and the three men fled.
Sgt. Chad Abbott obtained arrest warrants Wednesday for Dee and Colon, who are from the Jay/Livermore Falls area, the chief said.
