RUMFORD — Stephens High School Class of 1965 will hold a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Gatch’s. Spouses and friends are invited.
Lobster, chicken roll supper set
DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church will have a lobster roll or chicken roll supper on Thursday, July 11, in the annex on High Street from 5 p.m. until sold out.
The costs will be $8 for the lobster roll and $7 for the chicken roll. Children under 12 will be half price.
The menu will be lobster roll or chicken roll, potato or macaroni salad, cole slaw, dessert and beverage. Take outs are available by calling 562-4582 or coming in.
Horseback trail ride July 13
ANDOVER — Ellis River Riders will sponsor a horseback trail ride from Devil’s Den at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13. The ride will start at South Arm Road.

Sons of Italy chicken barbecue
RUMFORD — The Sons of Italy on Route 108 will have their annual chicken barbecue starting at noon Saturday, July 13.
It will include half a barbecued chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, beverage, dessert and a homemade roll.
Ice cream social is July 14
RUMFORD — An ice cream social for American Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion members will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Post 24.
Members may bring a guest.
Auxiliary members may renew for 2014 and pick up their membership card for next year.

Public ham dinner at Grange
RUMFORD — A public ham dinner will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Rumford Grange No. 115.
Desserts include homemade pies and puddings.
Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5-12 and free for 65 and up.
Isabella outing, communion
RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle No. 504 Daughters of Isabella will have a corporate communion at the 9:30 a.m. mass Sunday, July 14, at the Parish of the Holy Savior. The summer outing will follow at Angela Arsenault’s home in Roxbury Pond.
Committee members will furnish lunch. They are Dot Benedix and Sandra Marten, chairpersons; Marguerite Elliot, Pat Gautreau, Barbara Clark, Janette Blouin and Terry Umbro.
The day will be in memory of deceased member Dorothy Chrissikos.
Vacation Bible School planned
RUMFORD — Vacation Bible School for children potty-trained through fifth grade will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. July 21-25 at Praise Assembly of God, 89 Congress St.
The theme of the week is ancient Athens, exploring what life was like for the Apostle Paul on his dangerous journey to share the truth.
There will be projects, games and food.
Registration is needed by July 14.

Mexico Historical Society meeting
MEXICO — The Mexico Historical Society will meet Monday, July 15, at the Wills Homestead Museum for a potluck picnic and an evening of fellowship. Guests will be the Byron, Dixfield, Peru and Rumford Historical Societies.
Hot dogs on the grill and drinks will be provided. The grill will be open for grilling other choices. Bring a salad or dessert to share. Rain date will be July 22.
Bitsy Ionta at Mexico Library
MEXICO — As part of the Terrific Tuesdays summer program for kids, the Mexico Public Library will host a special program at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at the Calvin Lyons Hall, next door to the library.
Bitsy Ionta, scientist and educator, will present a hands-on program of fun with science. The program is geared for kids ages 2-14.

RUMFORD — A yard and bake sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at the parking lot of Maine Made Furniture, 1180 U.S. Route 2.
Proceeds will benefit the Culture of Compassion Event scheduled for Aug. 17.
Program on new health care law
RUMFORD — Jake Grindle, Health Services Navigator with Western Maine Community Action, will present “The Affordable Care Act 101: Understanding the New Health Care Law” at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Rumford Town Hall, second floor conference room.
The Affordable Care Act is bringing some major changes to the health care system in the coming months. By the end of the year, there will be new requirements for individuals and employers, new options for affordable health coverage for many Mainers and many new rights, protections and changes to current government health care programs.
Coffee and muffins will be served.
