EAST DIXFIELD — Western Maine musicians Donna Whittemore of Farmington, Linda Lee of Weld, and the Oxford Hills band “The Country Trio” featuring Leroy Leblanc, Lolalee Dillingham and Del Parker will headline “Hillbilly Days” at Countryfolk Music Theatre.
This youth music scholarship weekend is a two-day event July 27-28 that will bring back traditional country sounds of the 1950s and 60s. Youth music scholarship young people will also perform during the weekend. Countryfolk has awarded more than $5,000 in scholarship money to 31 youths over the past 14 years.
Other featured performers include Lori Bonnevie of Fayette, Mary and Maurice Belanger of Manchester, Robin and Alan Hakala of Livermore Falls, Ronda Dale of Peaks Island, Owen Donnell of Leeds, Christine LaPointe of Jay, Forrest Blood of Jay, and Alan Rich of Livermore Falls. Special guest performers on Saturday during the Jamboree will be Ken Wentworth and the Brewer Boys from the Bangor area. Also featured will be Bill Grover formerly of South Paris, Paula Kaise formerly of Norway, Art Ploof of Oxford and Aubrey Farrington of West Paris.

10 a.m.-noon — Open mic
noon-7 p.m. — Country jamboree
5 p.m. — Pot luck supper
7-9 p.m. — Country dance featuring the A&A Country Boys
9 p.m. — Field picking
Sunday, July 28
7-10 a.m. — Cowboy campfire vittles
10-11 a.m. — Cowboy Church
noon-6 p.m. — Country music on two stages, dance floor
1 p.m. — Countryfolk youth music scholarship awards; special guest performer; potluck meal
