GRAY — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning Tuesday for much of the tri-county area.

The warning, in effect until 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, was issued for Androscoggin County and Southern Oxford County, as well as parts of York, Kennebec and Cumberland counties and sections of New Hampshire.

As of 8:21 a.m., the NWS service reported that 1-3 inches of rain had already fallen in New Hampshire and Western Maine, with another 1-2 inches of rain expected over the next three hours.

A warning means that flooding has already occurred or is imminent.

Meanwhile, a flash-flood watch is in effect until early this evening for much of the state.
