RUMFORD — Drivers using South Rumford Road to reach Route 232 or vice versa should be aware that a state construction project will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, July 29, at Abbotts Mill Bridge.

South Rumford Road travels over the bridge, which spans the Concord River about a half mile east of Route 232.

Maine Department of Transportation contractor Maritime Construction and Engineering LLC of Eliot will be installing bridge scour countermeasures and doing other, incidental work.

The project is expected to take three to four weeks, Deke Mackintosh, Maritime Construction project manager, stated in a recent email to Rumford Town Manager Carlo Puiia.
