DURHAM — An out-of-town driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Stackpole Road on Monday morning.

According to Androscoggin deputy sheriff Craig MacMillan, Kristle Doughty, 22, of Bridgton was driving northbound on Stackpole Road, rounding a curve near the intersection of Cloutier Road. She told the deputy she was distracted by a cat in the road and lost control of her car, going off the left shoulder. Her car careened over some rocks, struck a tree and a snowmobile trailer parked off the road on private property, Deputy MacMillan said.

She suffered a broken nose and other facial injuries and was evaluated at the scene by Durham Fire and Rescue, which transported her to CMMC. Doughty was not wearing a seat belt, he said. Her 2007 Pontiac Grand Am was totaled in the 8:06 a.m. crash.
