I have been watching the construction of the new bridge over the Little Androscoggin River. The new bridge will replace the old Littlefield Bridge that was constructed in 1937.
I am very impressed with the workers on the project, who work for the bridge contractor Wyman & Simpson. They are always working; no one is standing around wondering what to do. The foreman seems to be a straight-shooter and the workers all seem to really like him. He seems very genuine and they work hard for him. He is always on the go and seems to work hard as well.
More crews like that are needed in Maine — crews that don’t stand around watching other workers work. On the bridge project, everyone seems to be pulling his weight — like a smooth working engine.
Higher officials of that contractor should be proud of the workers; they really put out the work and it shows. The bridge looks awesome.
