YARMOUTH — Entries will be accepted until 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, for the fifth annual Yarmouth Art Festival. The juried show will be held Oct. 16-19 at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church at 396 Gilman Road, about a mile from Cousins Island.

Created in 2009 as a new venue for artists statewide, the festival welcomes online submissions – painting, sculpture, photography, etching and digital media – from any artist 18 and older who maintains a residence in Maine. The fee is $15 per person for the first piece, $10 for the second and $5 for every additional one. To access an entry form and the rules, visit www.yarmouthartfestival.com.

Artists will be notified on Oct. 1 about works that have been selected for inclusion. Last year’s show drew more than 300 entries, with 165 pieces by 75 artists chosen for display. A total of 47 pieces were sold at prices ranging from $60 to $800.

The 2013 festival will be open Wednesday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An artists’ reception, including music and refreshments, will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Admission will be free for both the festival and the reception, with donations accepted.

Submission fees and sale commissions support local community services, such as the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry and St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry in Portland.
