- Jamie Cunningham of the Wilton area holds his dog, Chance, a 3-year-old pit bull mix, on Tuesday near the beach at Wilson Pond. Cunningham said his dog was hit by a car on Aug. 22 when it ran after a pedal bike on the side of the road. Chance suffered several cuts, scrapes and bruises but no broken bones. He said vehicles need to slow down in that area because there are a lot of children. The speed limit on Lake Road is 25 miles per hour.
