Pelletier was born and raised on the banks of the St. John River in Aroostook County. She is the author of 10 novels, including “The Funeral Maker,” “The Weight of Winter,” and “Running the Bulls.” Writing as K.C. McKinnon she published two novels, both of which became television films. After years of living in Nashville, where she became a songwriter, along with Toronto and Quebec, Pelletier has returned to the family homestead in Aroostook County where she was born.

“The One-Way Bridge” is Pelletier’s first novel in six years. In the novel, readers are drawn back to Mattagash, the last town in the middle of the northern Maine wilderness. Yet this simple town connected by a single one-way bridge is anything but tranquil. With her trademark wit and keen eye for detail, Pelletier has assembled an unforgettable cast of endearing and eccentric characters.

Pelletier’s talk, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Reading Room. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. Lithgow Library is at 45 Winthrop Street.. For more information, call 207-626-2415 or visit www.lithgow.lib.me.us.
