WILTON — Police searched for a vehicle in the East Wilton area Friday morning after a Wilton police officer clocked the driver at 101 mph on Route 2.
Officer Ryan Richardson was traveling back to Wilton on Route 2 near Rocky Hill Landscaping about 9:30 a.m. when he saw a car with three people inside, he said.
The driver made a turn onto Cemetery Road heading towards Main Street in East Wilton. He almost struck an oncoming vehicle head-on when he made the turn, Richardson said.
The vehicle was a silver Dodge Neon with no license plate on the front, he said. Police believe the vehicle headed up Temple Road from Main Street and may have pulled off the road, he said.
Franklin County deputies, state police and Farmington police came to assist Richardson. The vehicle was not found.
