- Shelley Deane, senior vice president for human resources and administration for Franklin Savings Bank and Western Mountain Financial Services, holds a plaque fromĀ Best Places to Work in Maine. The business was ranked tenth in the small to medium-sized business category. It was the highest-ranking bank in the category. The awards program, created in 2006 by of the Society for Human Resource Management, is a project of the Maine State Council and Best Companies Group. The 2013 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 60 companies in two size categories: 47 small/medium companies (15-249 U.S. employees) and 13 large companies (250 or more U.S. employees). To be considered for participation, companies must have at least 15 employees working in Maine; be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity; be a publicly or privately held business; have a facility in the state of Maine; and must be in business a minimum of one year.
