AUBURN — Two councilors finishing their first terms and a nine-year veteran will return to their Auburn City Council seats after November’s vote.
Ward 1’s Tizz Crowley, Ward 2’s Robert Hayes and Ward 3’s Mary LaFontaine all have no challengers on November’s ballot.
Crowley was elected to her first term in 2011 and serves as the council’s representative to the Auburn Sewer District. She’s a retired medical group administrator.
Ward 1 is the northernmost section of the city and includes all of Lake Auburn. It includes parts of downtown, Gamage Avenue, Summer Street, Youngs Corner Road and Jackson Hill Road north to the borders with Turner and Minot and east to the Androscoggin River.
Ward 1 voters will cast ballots at Washburn Elementary School, 35 Lake Auburn Ave.
Hayes is a five-term veteran seeking his sixth term in Ward 2. He served multiple terms on the city’s Planning Board before running for City Council.
Ward 2 is in the middle of the city, from Gamage Avenue, Summer Street, Youngs Corner Road and Jackson Hill Road in the north to the Union Street Bypass area, Court Street, Taylor Brook, Chicoine Avenue, Valview Drive and Garfield Road in the south and from the Androscoggin River west to the Minot border. It includes all of Taylor Pond.
Ward 2 residents will vote at Auburn Middle School, 38 Falcon Drive.
LaFontaine is also finishing up her first term. She is a manager at the Lewiston CareerCenter.
Ward 3 runs from the Union Street Bypass area, Court Street, Taylor Brook, Chicoine Avenue, Valview Drive, Garfield Road in the north to Minot Avenue, Manley and Hotel roads and the Little Androscoggin River in the south, and from the Androscoggin River west to the borders with Minot and Poland. It includes the Great Falls Plaza downtown and Edward Little High School.
Ward 3 residents will vote at Auburn Hall, 60 Court St.
