- A line of dog and cat lovers forms outside the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston on Friday morning for the first day of the three-day Mega Match-A-Thon pet adoption. “I want that dog,” John Poulin of Auburn said of “Erica” the golden retriever. Poulin’s two golden retrievers died over the summer. “Now that a little of the pain has worn off, I am ready to do it again,” he said.
