1. Cheverus (8-0)

Stags’ potential semifinal opponents, Lewiston and Bangor, present contrasting styles. Wonder which they would prefer to prepare for Portland?

2. Portland (7-1)

Week 1 loss to Cheverus showed Bulldogs they would have to be more physical to beat Stags, and their opponents have the bumps and bruises to prove that they learned their lesson.

3. Kennebunk (8-0)

Rams could probably use a bye week after their physical finale against Brunswick, but unlike their Eastern B peer, they don’t have that luxury.

4. Bonny Eagle (7-1)

Scots bounced back from loss to Thornton with convincing win over Windham. Scarborough looms as potential semifinal land mine.

5. Thornton (6-2)

Trojans getting healthier and more dangerous. Bye week isn’t going to hurt either.

6. Leavitt (8-0)

Hornets ended the regular season with the stingiest defense in the state by far, allowing a paltry four points per game. Potential semifinal foe Yarmouth was next, allowing 7.9 ppg.

7. Brunswick (6-2)

After committing 10 penalties for 125 yards, including seven personal fouls, in last week’s loss to Kennebunk, Dragons will have to show more discipline if they hope to meet the Rams or anyone else in B West again in three weeks.

8. York (6-2)

Wildcats faded into B West background after 0-2 start, but last week’s win against Marshwood was a reminder they’re not to be taken lightly this time of year.

9. Waterville (7-1)

Winslow has the edge in the Crabtrees, but Panthers won last week’s head-t0-head classic.

10. Winslow (7-1)

Black Raiders have a week to let loss to Waterville sink in. This doesn’t bode well for the Belfast-Foxcroft winner.
