Canton Fire plans wreaths raffle
CANTON — Canton Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary has announced the dates for its 2013 Festival of Wreaths Raffle.
Donate a decorated wreath, on any theme, by Nov. 29.
Wreaths will be displayed to the public at the Canton Fire Department during the following schedule: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1; 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2-6; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec 7; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 8.
Raffle tickets are six for $5 or one for $1. Raffle winners will be contacted.

Holiday sale at Grange Hall
NORWAY — The Grange Community Service Committee will hold its second annual holiday sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, at the Grange Hall, 15 Whitman St.
Offerings include crafts, lunch, snacks, 50/50 raffle and an ice cream social basket raffle.
Church sells wreaths during parade
NORWAY — Second Congregational Church will sell wreaths during the Oxford Hills Holiday Parade on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Start the holiday season with a freshly made Christmas wreath and then watch the parade from the church parking lot, 205 Main St. Wreaths will be on sale from 9 to 11 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the church’s many programs that reach the community at large.
The Second Congregational Church is a member of the United Church of Christ and welcomes everyone to worship services and children’s church school every Sunday at 10 a.m.

Socrates Cafe meets Dec. 2
WATERFORD — A Socrates Cafe gathering will be held at the Waterford Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2.
Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome.
Coffee and light refreshments will be served. The topic for the December meeting will be “Are Humans The Masters of Their Fate?”

Trip for supper, Portland Symphony
BRIDGTON — Landmark Human Resources, Inc. will continue its tradition of a trip to see The Portland Symphony Orchestras’ Magic of Christmas 2013 on Friday, Dec. 13.
Participants will travel in ease and style again this year with round trip transportation provided from both Norway and Bridgton by VIP Bus Tours for the 2 p.m. Preview Performance. A picnic supper will be provided on the trip home.
Cost for LHR clients is $40, community guests $60. Includes ticket, the picnic supper and round trip transportation.
