1926 – 2013

PORTLAND — Harty J. Michaud, 87 formerly of Towle Street, Lewiston, died Saturday, Dec. 7, at Seaside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Portland after a long illness. He previously resided at Gray Manor in Gray.

He was born in Fort Kent on Nov. 17, 1926, son of the late Pascal and Flavie Cyr Michaud. Harty was educated at St. Louis School in Fort Kent and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married Nov. 17, 1951, to Pauline Deschenes, who predeceased him on Feb. 7, 2000.

Harty loved being outside, drinking coffee and eating donuts.

He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Driscoll of Lewiston; a granddaughter, Danielle Miller and husband, Nate; a great-granddaughter, Ruby Miller; a niece, Jackie Webb of Poland Spring; and many other nieces and nephews. Also a longtime family friend, Dorothy Paquette.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Rita Caron and Martha Pellerin; a stepsister, Alma Roy; and a brother, Armand Michaud.
