AUBURN — Two faculty members from the nursing program at Central Maine Community College were contributing authors for two recent nursing publications.
Peter Miller, M.S., was recently published in Potter, Perry and Elkin’s 5th Edition of “Nursing Interventions and Clinical Skills,” published by Elsevier. Miller authored Chapter 27 titled “Therapeutic Use of Heat and Cold.”
He holds a master’s degree in nursing and maintains certification as an orthopedic nurse and as a nurse educator. Miller joined the CMCC faculty in 2012 with more than 12 years’ experience as a nurse educator.
Sharon J. Kinney, RN, MSN, CNE, was a contributor to “Innovations in Nursing Education: Building the Future of Nursing,” a 2014 publication of the National League for Nursing. Along with her colleagues in Pennsylvania, Kinney developed and implemented clinical portfolios as a way to demonstrate students’ higher order critical thinking abilities. Kinney also recently renewed her designation as a certified nurse educator through the National League for Nursing.
