- “It’s a long, miserable process,” said Eddie Smith, right, as he and his friend, Russell Chadburn, got Smith’s Runnin’ Rebel Series race car ready for the race season at Smith’s home in Auburn on Wednesday. “When you’re out there racing, you forget about the misery,” said Smith, who just recently bought the car. “Until you hit something, then the misery comes back.” Smith will start the season at Wiscasset Speedway on April 19 and at Oxford Plains Speedway in May.
