Key losses: Connor Harris, Lucas Bourget, Roger Charest, Aswan Duncan .

Promising newcomers: Senior — Jeff Clark (sprints); Juniors — Hunter Martin (sprints), Quinn Bradley (throws), Dustin Wyman (sprints), Michael Williams (throws); Freshmen — Zion Gurney (jumps), Owen Mower (sprints, jumps), Koby Stange (throws).

Season outlook: LaRoche doesn’t use the word rebuilding very often — the Red Eddies have won 10 consecutive KVAC championships — but it probably applies this season. Harris (the program’s all-time leading scorer) and Bourget are competing at the University of Maine. Charest is on the team at USM, and Duncan’s family moved to Georgia. The team has added some depth in the sprints (Martin, Wyman, and Clark), jumps (Mower and Gurney) and throws (Stange, Williams and Bradley). That will keep EL in contention at the conference meet, but the coach touted rival Lewiston as a “heavy favorite.” Sprints will be the strongest area for the Red Eddies. At the state level, the EL boys will shoot to finish in the top five, with Cheverus and Scarborough expected to set the pace.
