Mike Michaud, D-Maine, a 2014 candidate in the Maine governor’s race, speaks to Democrats at their newly opened Androscoggin County 2014 campaign headquarters at 124 Lisbon St. in Lewiston on Thursday. Michaud spoke to a group of about 50 supporters, state lawmakers and other candidates during a brief gathering. Michaud said his top priority, if he’s elected governor, would be to expand the state’s Medicaid system using available federal funds. “I can guarantee each and every one of you here today that on day one, I’ll be submitting legislation to expand access to health care to those 70,000 Mainers,” Michaud said to a burst of applause.
