AUGUSTA — Maine Gov. Paul LePage is appointing deputy finance chief Richard Rosen to serve as acting head of the department.

The Republican governor said Thursday that Rosen will take over for Department of Administrative and Financial Services Commissioner Sawin Millett (SAH’-win MIH’-leht), who is stepping down at the end of the month after spending decades in state government.

Rosen has been serving as Deputy Commissioner of Finance since February. He also lead the Governor’s Office of Policy and Management and spent four terms as in the state Senate and three terms in the House.

Millett, who worked under five Maine governors, announced last month that he was retiring to spend more time with his family.
