HARRISON — A smoky engine erupted into flames shortly after rolling back into a driveway Sunday on Plains Road.

According to Deputy Chief Nathan Sessions of the Harrison Fire Department, the Ford pickup owned by John Walton pulled into the driveway at 22 Plains Road, about 10 feet away from the garage when the fire broke out.

Sessions said the fire also ignited the two-car garage on the property but the trailer Walton was renting 30 feet away was not damaged.

Sessions said Norway, Paris, Bridgton and Otisfield fire departments assisted due to the vehicle fire spreading to a structure. According to Sessions, one firefighter from Norway was taken to the hospital for exhaustion during firefighting operations.
