Little League

Austin Associates 7, Giffords 6

After an impressive pitching battle, Austin Associates overtakes Giffords Ice Cream in an extra-inning game and came out on top, 7-6.  Austin held a 3-0 lead until the third when Giffords fought back to tie it at 3-3.  Each team added a run in the fourth inning. Still running neck and neck at 6-6 at the bottom of the sixth, Austins or Giffords could not settle the matter.  Neither team produced a run in the seventh, but in the bottom of eighth with Austin’s Chase Martin on second base, Finnegan Thistle hit the ball hard enough to drive Chase Martin home to clinch the victory.
