1950 – 2014
LIVERMORE — Jeffrey M. Riggs, 63, of Livermore, passed away suddenly and peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, June 17.
He was a Christmas baby, born on Dec. 25, 1950, in Jay, a son of Warren and Marion Riggs. He was a 1969 graduate of Jay High School and from 1970 to 1972, he was stationed in Germany where he served in the U.S. Army.
On May 24, 1996, he married Doreen Harris in Mechanic Falls.
Jeff worked in area shoe shops, at Tex Tech in Winthrop and at Safe Handling in Auburn, prior to and until 2007.
He enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, spending time in Rangeley with Doreen, yard “sailing” (as he would call it) — looking for tools and other “good deals” — and seeing new projects that his son was working on.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Doreen, of Livermore; his children, Rob Riggs and his wife, Jen, of Livermore, Wendy Todd and her husband, Rob, of Michigan, Tia McCulley and her husband, Kevin, of Lewiston and Ben Harris and his wife, Lindsay, of Minot; sisters, Cynthia Richards of Lewiston, Brenda Dorey and her husband, Warren, of Jay, and Rolinda Hewins and her husband, Floyd, of Livermore Falls; five grandchildren, Chelsie Riggs, Bryan Riggs, Katrina Riggs, Nathan Todd and Jocelyn Todd; his mother- and father-in-law, Ken and Frances Perkins of Mechanic Falls; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his cats, Muffie and his “Little Squeak.”
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lawson Riggs; and brother-in-law, Larry Richards.
Tributes and condolences may be shared on his memorial wall and his memorial video may be watched at www.wilesrc.com.
