- Milt Simon directs the Auburn Community Band during its Fourth of July concert Wednesday. For the third season in a row, the band had to abandon its shell in Festival Plaza for the dry and cool Hilton Garden Inn because of inclement weather. This year marks the 33rd summer since Simon organized the group. The 43 volunteer musicians participating this year range in age from 15 to 88 and represent 15 communities.
