MEXICO — Children from the River Valley region will have the chance to sing and dance to songs about nature as part of the EarthJams music program at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, in the Calvin B. Lyons Room at the Town Office.

According to its website, EarthJams is a program run by Harpswell resident Matt Loosigan, who performs interactive comedic songs about “ecology and being green.”

Loosigan will perform different songs for children who attend the concert at the library, while the children will have the opportunity to sing along with Loosigan and dance to the music.

The concert is a part of the Mexico Public Library’s summer reading program entitled “Read: May the Books Be With You.” Children participating in the program are split up into three groups: ages 2 to 5, ages 6 to 10 and ages 11 to 14, and receive a prize for spending a certain amount of time reading or looking at books with an adult or on their own.
