BRUNSWICK — Maine State Music Theatre will present “Footlight Follies” — a show so big it starts outside the theatre — on Monday, Aug. 11, at the Pickard Theatre on the Bowdoin College campus.
From 6:45-7:25 p.m., seven outdoor stages will highlight a variety of entertainment free to the public. The main stage show begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature professional talent from the MSMT company and members of the local community, including unicycling troupe Woodside One Wheelers, folk grass trio String Tide, accapella groups Good Time Sound and Back Bay Four, Jessica Wright (Midcoast Maine’s Got Talent winner), and the Windy Ridge Band.
In addition to the stage show, three priceless experiences will be auctioned off during the night. These include the chance to see MSMT’s production of “Footloose” while wearing the stage management headset, the opportunity to join MSMT at local auditions and experience what the casting director sees, and to enjoy “Producer” status with the MSMT artistic team for final callbacks in New York City.
Maine State Music Theatre will also hold a one-night-only raffle of an estate platinum ring with a replacement value of $7,400, donated by Springer’s Jewelers.
Tickets to the main stage show range from $20-$40 and are available at www.msmt.org, 207-725-8769, or at 1 Bath Road.
