1926 – 2014

LISBON FALLS — Donald Chester Pulsifer, 88, of Lisbon Falls died at home on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Born in Brunswick on July 6, 1926, to Paul and Lenora (Gatchell) Pulsifer, he graduated from Brunswick High and served in the U.S. Army in France and Germany during World War II. He later studied forestry at the University of Maine. For much of his life, he worked as a sawyer in local sawmills and then as a marine electrician at Bath Iron Works. Upon retirement, he ran his own sawmill with his son, Jeff.

He met Carol Smith after the war, and they married on Aug. 1, 1953, and were together for 61 years. Donald and Carol built their home in Lisbon Falls in 1956 and raised their three children, Gary, Jeff and Barbara there.

Donald was an honest, hard working and considerate man with dry wit and humor. He had a great love of the outdoors and was still driving his prized 1952 Willy’s Jeep.

He is survived by his wife; children; his grandson, Garrett; and his brothers, Richard and Ronald.

You are invited to share your thoughts, condolences and fond memories of Donald through his guest book at www.crosmanfuneralhome.com.
